Pomeranians are loyal, playful, and affectionate dogs. These elegant, delicate, small dogs come from the Spitz family and are known for their beautiful fluffy coats. Pomeranians are great companions for families due to their fun, playful, and friendly nature, and their size makes them highly suitable for city living. They get along very well with children and are an intelligent breed that enjoys learning tricks.

Pomeranians are not a difficult breed to care for, but they tend to be a bit picky with food. Due to their active nature, obesity is rare. The most demanding part of their care is their fur. Their double-layered coat requires grooming (brushing) at least three times a week. During shedding periods, daily brushing may be necessary.
Despite their small size, Pomeranians need regular exercise. Frequent bathing is not recommended for this breed. One thing to watch out for in Pomeranians is their dental health. It is recommended to brush their teeth at least twice a week.
This small breed is as smart as it is sweet. The Pomeranian, being a small breed, usually prefers indoor potty training. In this form of training, patience, love, and discipline are essential, as with all training methods.
When training a dog indoors, it’s important to first designate a potty area. Using a pee pad and spray on the pad and playpen area can help expedite the process. (All puppies raised on our farm have basic potty training.)
Basic obedience training can start as early as 8 weeks old. Commands like sit, down, stay, no, good job, and come can be taught during this period. This training will allow for a more harmonious life with the dog, and the owner can address any issues encountered in social settings with a simple command.
